Crazy overload of handle information! Extremely interesting though- who knew tea cups had soooo much information hidden in them. :) I don't know if I will retain more than two or three types, but I know where I'm coming when I want to find out what I have!
ReplyDeleteWould love to know over what range of years each of these styles was manufactured.
ReplyDeleteDo you know where I can find mugs or tea cups with the loop double rest style handle? I was once served tea in a cafe where the handle had that 2nd finger rest. I'd love to find some cups like that to buy, but can't seem to find them anywhere. Any thoughts or recommendations?
ReplyDeleteGREAT USEFUL INFO! Thanks :)

Fabulous.. Terrific Information.. I have been searching high and low for historical information on Tea cups for the longest time... Handles, pedestal base and not... cup shape size and style and the history of when they changed .. Thank You for this wonderful insight. It makes it easier to date an object if you have the relevant information to go on. Cheers.
